Job Location: Nashville, TN - Hybrid Schedule (Relocation Assistance Negotiable)

Compensation: $90,000 - $150,000 annually depending upon qualifications and years of experience, annual bonus opportunity based upon company and individual KPIs.

Overview:
Under general supervision or independently, performs a variety of structural engineering tasks for small projects or selected segments of large projects. Continuously seeks opportunities to learn and develop within the discipline with the support of senior design staff. Assists the project team in the production of projects on time, within budget, and consistent with industry standards.
Essential Functions:
- Begins assuming responsible charge for projects within the engineer’s control and expertise
- Coordinates project designs with other disciplines
- Attends meetings with owners, clients, or architects as needed
- Prepares scope and pricing documents for clients
- Performs specific engineering studies and other design analyses using industry software
- Reviews shop drawings and submittals from contractors or fabricators
- Assists in the development of design approaches and concepts
- Provides input, feedback, and updates on project schedules and plans work in accordance with the schedule
- Conducts project job site visits during construction to investigate field conditions and monitor progress based on design specifications, owner expectations, and building codes; provides field inspectors with technical guidance
- Begins to coordinate with local authorities, utilities, and municipalities to incorporate associated construction and government standards
- Begins to coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and clients to determine project scope
- Maintains a continued focus on keeping up with industry trends and changes with continued self-education and training
- Acts and performs activities inside and outside the office in a manner consistent with ethical engineering standards
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies in all construction materials (particular emphasis on steel and concrete)
- Knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and MicroStation
- Knowledge of industry specific software (e.g., RAM Elements, Leap Bridge Enterprise, ETABS)
- Knowledge of drafting and design procedures, standards, and specifications
- Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations
- Knowledge of principles of structural mechanics, analysis, and design

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited college with four years of relevant experience in discipline design and analysis
- Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited college with three years applicable experience in discipline design and analysis
- EIT or PE required
- Bridge Inspection experience
- **FHWA approved Bridge Inspection Team Leader Certification**
- This is an absolute must have
