Commissioning Engineer Lead

System One is currently seeking a Commissioning Engineer Lead for an industry-leading client in the Pittsburgh, PA area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop comprehensive commissioning plans outlining the scope, schedule, and resources required for each project.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate commissioning activities into the overall project timeline.
  • Lead the testing and verification of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation & control systems to ensure they meet design and performance criteria.
  • Oversee the multi-disciplined onsite team comprised of engineers and technicians.
  • Identify and resolve any issues or deviations from specifications during the commissioning process.
  • Create and maintain detailed commissioning documentation, including test procedures, protocols, and reports.
  • Provide regular updates to project teams and clients on commissioning progress and any challenges encountered.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and facility operators, to ensure smooth execution of commissioning activities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for commissioning-related inquiries and issues.
  • Develop training programs for end-users and operations staff on the newly commissioned systems.
  • Facilitate the smooth transition of systems from commissioning to operational phase.
  • Ensure that commissioning activities comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Implement quality control measures to uphold the integrity of commissioning processes.

QUALIFICATIONS OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated experience and/or tenure performing commissioning duties.
  • Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related experience preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
  • Proven experience in commissioning roles, with a focus on complex systems in industrial or commercial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and Instrumentation & control systems.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse project teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with commissioning software and tools.
