Department Overview

The PremierOne Engineering team develops software for public safety organizations to manage emergency dispatch and records. The team is part of the Response, Reporting and Evidence organization which builds secure, scalable and reliable on-premise and cloud based products to serve public safety and enterprise markets throughout the world providing sophisticated and customized workflows and cost effective solutions to municipalities of all sizes.


Job Description

Work as a member of the Platform Engineering team whose mission is to ensure success for our public safety customers. The successful candidate will join a highly technical team eager to solve complex problems. This is a role that requires individuals to be versatile in their skill-sets, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining computer equipment (servers, switches, storage arrays, etc) in a lab. This includes, but not limited to; coordinating with 3rd party vendors for support/repairs, applying updates/patches to equipment, timely diagnosing and effective resolution of problems, administration of backup and restore processes, pro-active identification of areas of improvements, supporting/maintaining/nursing effective relationships with users as well as maintaining updates for concise documentation of all hardware & software configuration, and network architecture. Our team works closely with our customers, our customer support organization and the the broader engineering team to improve our PremierOne Systems functionality and performance.


Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience working in a data center operations role.
  • Well versed working (Racking / Stacking / Cabling / Decommissioning / Break-fix) on Lab Hardware e.g. Servers, Storage, Backup, Router, Switches firewall etc.
  • Strong critical thinking skills; ability to quickly comprehend problems, develop hypotheses, draw logical conclusions, develop solutions, and respond accordingly

Preferred Requirements:

  • Proficiency with networking configuration/maintenance including firmware updates.
  • Strong understanding and Experience with Microsoft infrastructure platforms services (Active Directory, DNS, PKI, Group Policies, DHCP)
  • Experience with Cloud integrations (Office365, Azure, Google)
  • Experience with Powershell
  • Strong debugging skills
  • Experience with Git
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to juggle priorities with project follow through.


This position is potentially subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" which would require successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Salary range - $72,700 - $145,400/year

Basic Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working in a data center operations role with experience working (Racking / Stacking / Cabling / Decommissioning / Break-fix) on Lab Hardware e.g. Servers, Storage, Backup, Router, Switches firewall etc.,.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
