Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for performing engineering tasks such as designing process layouts, updating procedures, enhancing safety measures, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires managing multiple manufacturing processes and products, setting priorities, and independently executing daily responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and validate test equipment, tooling, and structures for testing high-explosive components. Approve and review engineering drawings for mechanical and electronic tools and circuits, and oversee the testing and verification of electrical equipment used in product manufacturing.
  • Communicate project requirements, schedules, and activities with stakeholders, including project management, proposal writing, and budgeting.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for suppliers, ensuring their activities meet specified standards and requirements.
  • Lead projects from concept through production, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Apply lean manufacturing techniques, including Time and Motion Studies, Design of Experiments, Continuous Improvement, Flow, Total Productive Maintenance, and Value Stream Mapping.

Skills You’ll Need:

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information to teams and customers.
  • Proficiency in mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, along with the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and apply logical problem-solving in diverse situations. Proven ability to drive large projects from conception to completion.
  • Knowledge of software programs including Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, AutoCAD, 3D Modeling, Outlook, SAP, and other relevant tools.
  • Experience in preparing clear, well-written procedures and technical reports.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field. Preference for Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience.
  • Licenses/Registrations: Valid driver’s license and U.S. citizenship required.
  • Additional Requirements: Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
