Mechanical Engineer

Summary:
Under direct supervision, designs precision electromechanical switch components and assembly tooling components that meet customer requirements. Supports all product R&D from ideation to commercialization.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Performs CAD design following Dow-Key design guidelines and best practices.
- Executes finite element simulations to identify potential failures and make design changes accordingly.
- Creates detailed part drawings per ANSI Y14.5M-2009 GD&T standards.
- Builds and tests prototypes, analyzing data and interpreting results.
- Identifies problems in the design and develops improvements.
- Performs theoretical thermal and structural stress analysis, and tolerance analysis on new or modified products to meet customer specifications.
- Assists with project costing and schedule development.
- Examines cost reduction opportunities.
- Conducts design reviews and supports documentation release processes.
- Defines and monitors environmental tests and evaluates test results.
- Provides technical supervision during assembly and test processes and generates support documents as needed.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least two to five years of proven working experience in electromechanical systems design.
- Experience using SolidWorks Modeling and Simulation software effectively in a professional setting.
- Knowledge of mathematical computing and engineering analysis tools.
- Proficiency with GD&T.
- Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner.
- Technical writing skills.
- Highly analytical mind, with exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Work Arrangement : Onsite
Salary Range : $100,000.00 - $125,000.00
