Lead High Voltage Electrical Engineer

Location: Alcoa, TN

Compensation: $100,000 to $125,000 Base + Bonus

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering support and guidance for high voltage electrical systems and safety programs.
  • Assist maintenance, operations, and engineers in production areas throughout the facility.
  • Offer continuous improvement support, problem-solving, and technical solutions for design, process, and application issues.
  • Develop, manage, and implement capital projects as well as major repairs and maintenance activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of electrical engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Have experience with industrial high voltage and 480VAC power distribution, transformers, automation, process control systems, drives, and PLC's.
  • Demonstrate expertise in leading, managing, and implementing electrical projects, including design, installation, and commissioning.
  • Oversee craft persons involved in the implementation of engineered solutions and maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Manage external vendors providing electrical design and support.
  • Ability to work effectively in team environments and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possess 10 years of experience with electrical systems and manufacturing processes and principles.
  • Have 5 years of experience in high voltage electrical equipment and component engineering, design, application specification, maintenance, and failure analysis.
  • Working knowledge and experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
  • Experience in estimating, justifying, managing, and installing capital projects.
  • Proficient in designing, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial electrical power and control systems and equipment.
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering, industry safety standards, codes, and specifications.
  • Strong background in electrical engineering, maintenance, and reliability.
  • Understanding of world-class manufacturing techniques such as lean manufacturing, JIT, SPC, TQM, etc.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and creative thinking abilities.
