BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team for an exciting opportunity to support the readiness and sustainment of the US Air Force Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) program under the Integration Support Contract (ISC). This contract directs BAE to provide system level expertise and timely solutions to problems that require weapon system knowledge comprehensive enough to assess and solve system level problems that are not necessarily confined to any one subsystem.

The Role
BAE is looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer accountable to the MMIII Support Services DMSMS Project Manager for all tasks assigned; you will be part of a tight-knit team charged with supporting the Parts Engineering team of MMIII. Helps coordinate the execution of DMSMS Management Team (DMT) processes and the development of DMT management products. This includes, for example, assessing obsolescence forecasts, processing business case analyses (BCAs), and presenting solution options to the DMT for discussion and concurrence. Specifically, as a member of the DMT, you will be in a group that is responsible for over 10s of thousands of parts throughout the weapon system including: Ground Support, Guidance, Propulsion and RS/RV. Day-to-day, Sr. Mechanical Engineer opportunities will include gathering parts information from Technical Orders (TOs) and Drawings to provide accurate and updated information for MMIII proactive DMSMS support.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead a team of 3-5 Obsolescence Analysts/Logisticians
- Gather, collect, record, track, and verify data from multiple sources and maintain DMSMS records
- SharePoint experience is highly encouraged to support and maintain the DMSMS Parts Database
- Monitor obsolescence or parts availability across multiple platforms, scrub and load Bill of Materials from ICBM Technical Orders and Drawings for DMSMS/Obsolescence tracking
- Perform functions such as Analysis and Resolution, Data Maintenance, and Data Cleansing processes to Technical Data for configuration management
- Compile and maintain technical documentation such as blueprints, drawings, change orders, and specifications. Examines documents to verify completeness and accuracy of data, and resolves discrepancies with document originators
- May perform or support various specialty-engineering tasks; such as Reliability, Maintainability and Availability (RMA) analysis
- May support site operations and sustainment activities at customer locations
- May produce and/or review complex technical documents, specifications and standards
- Ensure the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes
- Develop and implement program activities. Coordinates efforts of contractors and customer organizations to resolve problems in logistics areas and to ensure contractual commitments are met
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience
- Excellent cognitive, communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills
- Must also be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. The criteria for obtaining and holding a clearance are driven by US government requirements. You must be a US citizen to obtain a security clearance
- Effective oral and written communication skills with customers, suppliers, and company personnel
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Experience in developing obsolescence mitigation options
- Experience reading engineering drawings
- Experience with a wide application of technical theories and concepts related to system logistics/sustainment/production activities/obsolescence
- Proficient with the MS Office suite; specific competence with data analysis and manipulation using Excel
- Experience in preparing customer and/or management level briefings
- Obtain and/or Possess Secret Level Clearance

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $75510 - $128340

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
