Responsibilities:

Duties: The Tractor Product Engineer, Battery Electric Vehicles at CNH Industrial America LLC in Oak Brook, IL will create new product component, sub-system and vehicle designs, drawings and bill of materials associated with ag tractors. The duties include analyzing field and factory feedback to continuously improve product by implementing design solutions that improve warranty, improve manufacturing, reduce cost, or add features. Developing designs, layouts, and drawings in support of electrification of agricultural tractor product line. Performing Vehicle performance, Kinematic and ballast analysis. Responsibility for designing overall tractor chassis, responsible to allocate vehicle system space claim to sub-system teams. Collaborating with sub-system teams to integrate component and sub-system designs into vehicle master model including tolerance stack analysis. Creating test requests and shop work orders to support design development and quality verification activity. Analyzing data and applying statistical problem-solving techniques to determine root cause and resolve field, lab and production problems supporting successful product development cycle. Contributing to the improvement of engineering design processes. Developing and supporting the execution of current product development plans consistent with meeting product line objectives. Applying appropriate engineering techniques and considerations of manufacturing processes and technology to produce innovative and efficient design solutions considering applicable safety and environmental regulations and standards. Analyzing and supervising costs of completed designs with product cost management. Working effectively with Supplier Quality/Manufacturing to ensure designs are efficient for manufacturing and able to meet quality requirements. Up to 25% (one week per month) domestic and international travel required to company and client locations. Telecommuting is permitted up to 3 days per week.

Salary: $100,600 - $145,200/year.


Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Automotive Engineering or directly related field, plus 2 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or related occupation. The 2 years of experience must include 2 years of experience with each of the following:

1) Designing offroad equipment,

2) PTC Creo or other computer aided design software,

3) Teamcenter or other design lifecycle management software,

4) Analyzing data and applying statistical problem-solving techniques to determine root cause and resolving field, lab, and production problems supporting productive development cycles,

5) Working with supplier quality and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are efficient and meet quality requirements, and

6) Creating, checking and approving technical drawings and engineering bills of material.
