1st Shift Controls Engineer

1ST SHIFT CONTROLS ENGINEER NEEDED - ADRIAN, MICHIGAN AREA


A Leading Automotive Supplier in the Adrian, Michigan area is in need of a 1st Shift Controls Engineer.

This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays & Paid Vacation.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical drawings to maintenance technicians to aid in repair and troubleshooting of stamping presses.
  • Works with Maintenance Engineer and Maintenance Technicians to troubleshoot and resolve stamping press issues utilizing RCA tools.
  • Receives quotes to refurbish, repair and maintain stamping presses from vendors and other outside resources.
  • Schedules stamping press PM and Work Order completions in conjunction with Maintenance Coordinator and Maintenance Engineer
  • Monitors PM frequencies and content in conjunction with Maintenance coordinator
  • Ensures that spare part inventory is adequate for stamping press sizes and quantities
  • Coordinates stamping improvement projects and repairs
  • Assist in necessary repairs to damaged equipment (to the component level if needed).
  • Provides support to other departments and team members as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Maintain proper filing system to ensure all information is properly stored and easily retrieved.
  • Carries out assigned responsibilities under IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
  • Any other reasonable request made by management.
  • Contributes to a safe, clean and comfortable work environment that complements the Occupational Health and Safety Act by ensuring the principles of the work place organization are supported and adhered to.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in the automotive industry with exposure to building equipment, programmable logic control, electrical, robotics, etc.
  • Excellent blue-print reading ability.
  • Must have 5 year experience with Servo, transfer, mechanical presses and decoilers.
  • Industrial electrical
  • Working knowledge of Siemen s Step 7, Simotion, S-7 Safety and TIA portal software
  • Preferred: Autocad, Rockwell Studio5000, Rslogix500, FactoryTalk, and Elipse SCADA experience.
  • Sound understanding of IATF 16949/ISO 14001 requirements
  • Working knowledge of processes
  • Computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Effective problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to handle multi-tasks and changing priorities
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Effective presentation skills
  • College degree or equivalent job experience
