Position Summary

The Chemical Engineering position focuses on designing, developing, and implementing new or revised processes. An Associate Professional position applies broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education and must be able to explain facts, policies and practices related to the job area. Work is closely supervised. Problems faced are not typically difficult or complex. Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operational activities including hands on equipment operation and troubleshooting
  • Manage line driven safety program for assigned area
  • Manage procedures including standard operating procedures and energy control plans for assigned area
  • Maintain operations schedule, operations tracking system, and track productivity metrics
  • Supports continuous improvement/optimization activities including ownership of minor capital projects and support of larger projects
  • Supports equipment reliability through efforts including, SPC control, preventative maintanence, and vendor service relationships
  • Designs equipment and processes to ensure most efficient and productive operations
  • Conducts tests throughout all stages of processing to determine control over applicable variables and prevents/solves process problems
  • Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Works on process problems of limited scope and assists with projects or processes while receiving general instructions from more senior professionals
  • Interacts with DCS systems including minor modifications and upgrades

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering or a related engineering field
  • Preferred: Experience working in an R&D or lab setting through co-op, internship, or school experiences
  • Interest in control programming and/or robotics/automation
