Job Summary:

Rheinmetall Survivability Engineers focus on integrating subsystems and implementing features that protect combat vehicle crews. Technologies such as armor, anti-missile systems, anti-drone systems, IED protective features, chemical weapons filtration/sealing and fire extinguishing all contribute to keeping personnel safe in a combat environment.

A primary role for this position focuses on materials selection and development for combat vehicle armor and structure. Using their materials background, the engineer will learn the behavior of armor and base materials against ballistic penetration from kinetic energy and chemical energy threats. This position will be the primary liaison between Rheinmetall and armor/material suppliers to ensure solutions meet the right combination of performance, cost and weight.
