Design Engineer

We are looking for a Design Engineer who can help us put the power, beauty, and magic of software development into the hands of a billion new creators.

You will be working alongside experienced product designers and engineers to weave a robust, flexible, and delightful software experience.

You will

• Contribute to the Glide Apps design system by refining existing components, developing new ones, and maintaining the end-user experience

• Help iterate on ideas by cycling between design exploration and live code

• Contribute to Glide Builder improvements

• Collaborate occasionally with the Marketing team on the Glide website

• Work closely with the design and engineering team

• Report directly to the Head of Design

• Develop a deep understanding of our product and contribute to improving it

This might be a great fit if…

• You have 3+ years of experience in design engineering or adjacent roles

• You have a very high bar for interactive design detail

• You are proficient in CSS and have expertise with TailwindCSS and StyledComponents

• You have expertise in web-based performance optimization for mobile and desktop

• You have experience working with React and Typescript

• You have experience maintaining component libraries and working with Figma

• You are passionate and self-motivated, with a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment

• You are eager to learn and collaborate and have an understanding and appreciation for the current software design space

Definitely mention if you have

• Experience with web accessibility standards

• Experience with Storybook.js

• Experience with SVG, WebGL, or other types of animation for the web

• Experience maintaining component libraries

• Experience with product design

• Skills in SwiftUI or other native frameworks
