Description

The IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving software and hardware infrastructure and IT applications. This posting will be for an Infrastructure Engineer Level 1, 2, or 3 depending on level of experience.


Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Manages technology by monitoring and maintaining production technologies in the network, security, server, telecommunications and application domains; ensures that all managed technologies meet our service level expectations; issues such as capacity needs must be anticipated and proactively addressed.
  2. Delivers new technology by designing and implementing new technologies which meet company service level and information security requirements; technology should perform as expected and be implemented without significant issues.
  3. Builds new systems and performs updates.
  4. Monitors current systems using testing software and other tools; maintain existing systems by performing maintenance and updating systems; implements upgrades and new systems.
  5. Performs troubleshooting and assists Help Desk with issue resolution.
  6. Manages service providers and vendors effectively; sets expectations; develops performance metrics; measures vendor performance, provides feedback and holds accountable.
  7. Able to work independently taking regular guidance and direction from senior staff.
  8. Other duties as required.

Technical Expertise

  1. Experience in broad/generalist IT functions [network, hardware, application, server] is required.
  2. Experience in Microsoft server administration is required.
  3. Experience with systems architecture and integration is preferred. 
  4. Experience in financial services or banking is preferred.
  5. Experience in Fiserv and Financial Resellers is preferred.
  6. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Shell or batch file scripting language software, OS Server 2003-2012, TCI/IP and general networking, MS debugging tools, MS Exchange, Unix/Linux is preferred.

Education and Experience

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field is preferred.
  2. Certification: ITIL, MS, CISSP, or other security certification is preferred.
  3. Years of experience supervising: None.

Physical Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, walk, stand, sit, bend, reach with hands and arms, climb, push/pull, use hands, and see, hear and speak.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • This position is performed in an office setting, five days a week with typical work hours being 8.30a through 5.15p. Able to work frequent overtime including weekends and evenings. Able to respond to cell phone beeper and emergences situations. Able to drive to branch locations.
