WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
As a Manufacturing Electrical Engineer, you play a critical role in ensuring the success of our medical device production. Your responsibilities span safety, quality, delivery, cost, and new product launches. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you’ll drive continuous improvement initiatives within our OPEX Plant development model. Additionally, you’ll work closely with D&E/Sustainment teams to design and enhance printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) for both new and existing medical devices.
YOUR ROLE
PCBA Design and Development : Collaborate with D&E/Sustainment teams to create and refine PCBAs for cutting-edge medical devices.
Troubleshooting Expertise : Work alongside the Associate Electrical Engineer to troubleshoot PCBA and medical device issues down to the component level, supporting production and the material review board (MRB).
Project Support : Assist project leads in implementing new products.
Supplier Collaboration : Partner with PCBA suppliers to develop robust testing methods, fixtures, and processes, ensuring high-quality products with minimal first-time failures.
Capital Equipment Planning : Prepare estimates for capital equipment needs related to production and new product plans. Create capital equipment requests (CERs) as necessary.
Process Optimization : Develop and document procedures and routing for production products, evaluating safety and ergonomics.
Engineering Change Management : Review and approve engineering change orders (ECOs), considering safety, quality, cost, and delivery improvements.
Pilot Runs and Validations : Lead product and process pilot runs, ensuring successful validation.
Cost Reduction Initiatives : Identify cost-saving opportunities and evaluate project feasibility for justifiable improvements.
Continuous Improvement : Champion continuous improvement efforts using methodologies such as CAPA (corrective action, preventative action) and Six Sigma.
YOUR BACKGROUND
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering and one year of experience in the manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Experience with electrical medical device assembly and design a plus.
- Experience with assembly and test manufacturing equipment from capital justification through launch.
- Experience with PCBA design using Altium and or equivalent software applications.
- Experience with electrical hardware design, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMS)
- Ability to identify, analyze, and implement improvements independently and to propose changes to existing methods, procedures, processes, and/or products.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple open projects simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Visual acuity for production and identification of quality product purposes.
