As a Materials Analysis Engineer, the candidate will be part of Technology Development Labs responsible for identifying and developing materials characterization and failure analysis techniques in support of Intel's next generation process development. The candidate must work in concert with Process Development and Quality and Reliability Engineers to improve process performance, product yield, quality and/or reliability. The scope will include emerging technologically relevant processes and materials.


Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Implementing materials characterization techniques to determine fundamental thin film material structure/properties and to collaborate with process development engineers across functional areas and organizations to apply the learnings to improve process performance and reliability.
  • Analyzing lab data, generating analysis reports and recommending corrective action with work models to prevent reoccurrence of problems.
  • Critical thinking and ability to influence and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Supporting new process/product transfer and startup and the automation and improvement of the materials/failure analysis process.
  • Ensuring that materials/failure analysis capabilities and readiness to support advanced process technology and/or product development.
  • May necessitate the development of improved/new tools and methods.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum qualifications and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates

Minimum Qualifications:

  • M.S. degree in Material Science, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical engineering, or Chemical Engineering fields.

AND

  • 2+ year experience in advanced semiconductor fabrication

OR

  • BS degree in Material Science, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical engineering, or Chemical Engineering fields.

AND

  • 3+ year experience in advanced semiconductor fabrication

2 years+ experience in the following:

  • Materials analyses and/or metallurgy, or material characterizations
  • semiconductor device physics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. degree in Material Science, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical engineering, or Chemical Engineering fields.

Experience in operating analytical lab test equipment in one or more of the following areas:

  • X-ray analysis/diffraction (TXRF, XRF, XRD/XRR)
  • Surface analysis (XPS, SIMS/TOFSIMS)
  • Electron spectroscopy and imaging (SEM/TEM/EDX)
  • Optical spectroscopy (Raman, FTIR)
  • Scanning probe methods
  • FIB techniques.
