Actalent is currently hiring for a MEP Engineer to support a reputable A&E firm in the Columbus Metropolitan area and as the MEP Engineer you will focus on commercial building projects.


The A&E firm has multiple different business units which include Civil, Transportation, Energy, and Building Systems which includes Architecture & MEP engineering.


As the MEP Engineer you will work within the Building Systems group and will report to a Licensed Project Lead Engineer that is responsible for 1 client. You will take direction from the Lead Engineer and will support the Lead Engineer in a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design/engineering capacity. You will also take responsibility for the technical content of building projects and manage all steps of the project process. You will utilize the AutoCAD and Revit design software to produce construction documents for commercial buildings which will primarily be for retail clients. A majority of the projects will be for repeatable retail clientele and the remaining will be a variety of project types including government, education, healthcare, parks & recreations, etc. In addition to design, you will be completing preliminary calculations within HVAC, ventilation, electrical, plumbing sanitary and water supply systems. Cross training within all disciplines of MEP engineering is required and if you are not well-versed within all disciplines, then you will have the ability to learn the areas that you are deficient within. You also have the opportunity to work a Hybrid work schedule. The hybrid schedule would require you to work in the office Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday & you would have the option to work from home on Tuesday and Fridays. There is also an option to work a predominantly remote work schedule after roughly supporting the A&E firm for 90 days; for the first 90 days, you will be required to work in the office 2 days a week. After supporting the firm for roughly 90 days and being evaluated that you have the ability to work remotely while being productive, you can change your schedule to fully remote or working in the office 1 day a week. This is only offered to someone who lives in Ohio and is fine with commuting to the Columbus office 1-2 days a week initially. For this position, you will be an Actalent consultant supporting the A&E firm and after supporting the firm for 9 months, you will have the opportunity to transition from Actalent to the A&E firm as their employee. Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineer OR equivalent experience +4 years of on the job experience as a Mechanical Engineer/Designer or Electrical Engineer/Designer for building systems Experience within AutoCAD or Revit producing construction documents for commercial building projects or retail projects Knowledge of engineering calculations Can not be job hoppy
