Job Description Summary:


The Process Engineer is responsible for the organization’s process improvement goals. The Process Engineer reports directly to the Financial Business Manager, and closely monitors the efficiency of business operations.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Leverages advanced knowledge to conduct complex analyses and performance metrics that identify where an issue has occurred and where process inefficiencies or gaps exist.
  • Acts as team lead for process improvement initiatives including facilitating the process lifecycle and defining deliverables for projects of medium to large scope.
  • Creates and implements integration and stabilization of complex processes in the organization.
  • Defines key measures of process effectiveness and develops appropriate performance metrics and ensures process performance meets business requirements.
  • Provides advanced production support of users, business systems, and applications in the organization.
  • Solicits and evaluates feedback to determine appropriate actions.
  • Creates, delivers, and provides presentations and training on complex business process improvements and enhancements.
  • Writes clear and detailed documentation for complex business processes and projects.
  • Makes decisions on complex issues that impact business results and arise within one's own area of work.
  • Collaborates with individuals inside and outside of own function to integrate projects and/or ensure changes work with other components of a specific project.
  • Manages team project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables for small to mid-sized projects.
  • Is the site subject matter expert with all aspects of the Operational management system. This includes but not limited to managing the improvement opportunities with the system, define KPI's and manage the change process with systems as they change and expand, and documenting and defining how the system interacts with various departments.
  • Ensures all new best practices are captured in standard work and partner with the training department in development of specific training plans.
  • Works with IT to establish criteria and well-articulated implementation plans specific charters, which will include timelines and action lists for new system’s enhancements.
  • Systematically identify losses within the value stream. These can be losses/wastes of any resource, but typical focus is on contracting, purchasing, billing, work order ticketing, time entry and management.
  • Support and monitor the ongoing implementation of lean activities including but not limited to standard work implementation, waste removal, Process Improvements
  • Promote benchmarking and best practice sharing with other areas/departments. Establish best practice standards to be used as goals for lean initiatives.
  • Develop process layouts and workflows.
  • Provide cost information for product/process changes, new products, and cost savings/avoidance initiatives.
  • Drive projects and assist others to complete projects to meet annual cost reduction targets.
  • Champion LEAN deployment, deployment, and other continuous improvement programs within the Services group.
  • Implement systems to minimize non-value-added work.
  • Lead process improvement projects to reduce waste.
  • In conjunction with others, develops various cost analysis for budgetary and management decisions.
  • Perform financial and time study calculations accurately.
  • Responsible for monitoring and improving operations KPIs, including the efficiency of processes and the performance of tools and equipment, ensuring high-quality deliverables for business objectives.
  • Interacts with Accounting, Project Management, Field Operations and customers to determine requirements for new processes or delivery methodologies.
  • Responsible for the administration, implementation, and project management of assigned projects, including using standardized methodology such as Lean Six Sigma and Critical Path.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management or related field.
  • An in-depth understanding of Six Sigma methodologies, principles, and tools. Six sigma green or black belt preferred.
  • Proficient in the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) model.
  • Competent in process flowcharting techniques. Familiar with tools like Visio, Lucidchart or similar.
  • Able to break down complex processes into smaller, manageable components.
  • Experience in project management techniques, including planning, execution and monitoring.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Ability to identify trends, root causes and improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to facilitate change.
  • Comprehension of business processes, financial implications, and strategic objects. Aligning improvement efforts with organizational goals is essential.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiar with lean manufacturing concepts. The ability to identify and eliminate non-value-added elements and activities within processes.
  • Capable of driving a root-cause analysis efforts with a data driven approach.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate complex technical processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to work with others under all situations.
  • Demonstrate computer knowledge (Microsoft Office / ERP software) with data analysis, modeling and reporting background in Excel and databases.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
