Your opportunity

We’re looking for a Product Development Engineer - Mechanical to join our Fluence engineering team in Austin, Texas. You’ll be responsible for developing new products.

What you’ll do

  • Participate in the entire product development process from concept to product release in the market.
  • Mechanical design, development, testing, and documentation of new products, parts, and assemblies of LED luminaires.
  • Design for manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure requirements are met in regards to cost, performance, safety. and compliance.
  • Update and maintain development reports.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related
  • 5+ years' work experience in End-to-End NPD (New Product Development) for electrical/electronic related products; LED luminaire design experience preferred
  • Expert in 3D modeling (SolidWorks or comparable)
  • Deep working knowledge of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and thermal management
  • Excellent knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes (i.e., assembly)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship needs.

  • Salary: $100,100 - $146,763
  • Bonus: target bonus opportunity - 10%
