As a R&D Engineer you will LEAD by……….

The position of R&D Engineer is located at BASF ECMS’s Catalyst Research and Development site in Iselin, New Jersey. We are a leading supplier of environmental catalysts worldwide. Our team supports the development of next generation automotive catalysts for gasoline and diesel applications. We are seeking an experienced professional like you to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our research laboratories while ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective operation.

In this role you will

• Support BASF ECMS’s R&D Operations.
• Develop new and/or repurpose existing reactor software and hardware resources to align with future testing needs.
• Troubleshoot existing bench scale reactor control systems.
• Solve problems with laboratory hardware crucial for efficient support of our R&D Operations.
• Have a strong focus on safety operation and support and drive a zero-incident mindset.
• Partner and contribute towards the development of next generation mobile emission catalysts.
• Document data in various databases and be diligent about lab procedures and continuous process improvement.
• Proactively assist in other areas.

Your elements for success……

• Bachelor’s +2 years of experience or Master’s + 1 years of experience in Chemical Engineering or a related field with knowledge of laboratory scale flow systems
• Hands-on experience designing, building, and operating bench scale laboratory equipment.
• Experience in LabVIEW, Visual Basic or Python are highly desired.
• Familiarity with laboratory gas flow systems and compressed gas cylinder handing is a plus.
• You are self-driven and must work well both independently and as a team member in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
