POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

KKCS seeks an entry-level engineer to join our growing risk practice as a full-time Risk Assistant Engineer in El Segundo, CA. The Risk Assistant Engineer will be responsible for a myriad of administrative and technical support activities. The Risk Assistant Engineer performs varied administrative office functions, maintains contract records, plans and specifications, related engineering and administrative records, and assists in report writing. This position will work under the direction of KKCS’s Sr. Risk Manager, who reviews work based on daily informal contacts, reports, and conferences. The successful candidate will be taught the best management practices for risk management and the construction of Monte Carlo risk models.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports the Sr. Risk Manager, Sr. Risk Engineer, and staff in developing, implementing, and monitoring the KKCS risk management program.
  • Reviews, studies, provides comment, and implements document control of related project materials (i.e., drawings, cost estimates, schedules, project management plans, technical studies).
  • Establishes and maintains job record files for assigned projects per the Sr. Risk Manager’s instructions.
  • Coordinates meetings and drafts corresponding reports.
  • Assists in coordinating risk workshops, development of risk registers, development of Monte Carlo cost and schedule risk models, and drafting corresponding reports.
  • Prepares slides and briefing materials.
  • Performs other project-related duties as assigned by the Sr. Risk Manager and Sr. Risk Engineer.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Required Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, economics, computer science, statistics, business management or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced engineering environment
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, and strong technical writing skills
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (specifically Excel), BlueBeam and/or other PDF programs

Preferred Experience & Education

  • Preferred, but not required, a knowledge of Deltek Acumen (or a competing scheduling software, i.e., Oracle Primavera P6, etc.)
  • Preferred, but not required, a knowledge of Lumivero @Risk (or a competing Monte Carlo software, i.e., RiskAMP, Analytica, Solver, etc.)
