The Opportunity

This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location in the Electrophysiology (EP) medical device division. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

Our project engineers, either independently or as a leader, guide a project team to identify, scope, plan and conduct medium-size to complex assigned projects. to support our EP business.


What You’ll Work On

  • Communicate project progress and escalate issues to management in a timely manner.
  • Direct the work of project team members, set goals and objectives, monitor progress on tasks. May have direct reports.
  • Understand Project Management tools and methodologies. Understand engineering principles, theories, concepts, practices and techniques.
  • Develop knowledge in a field to become a recognized leader or authority in an area of specialization and applies this knowledge in leadership roles in the company.
  • Analyze and solve problems from basic engineering principles, theories and concepts through to a wide range of complex and advanced problems which require novel and new innovative approaches or a major breakthrough in technology.
  • Interact cross-functionally and with internal and external customers to complete project deliverables with extended scope and duties. Cultivate an internal and external network of resources.
  • Mentor employees by sharing technical expertise and providing feedback and guidance.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ Degree required, engineering discipline for degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ with projects and project teams


Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters’ Degree
  • Med device experience

The base pay for this position is $72,700.00 – $145,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
