Epiroc is currently seeking a Staff Engineer to join our Parts and Services Division (PSD) Engineering Team in Garland. This engineer's mission will be to provide engineering support through design, research, cooperation, coordination, and collaboration. Specifically, they will lead Cost of Goods Sold Reduction (COGs) efforts for the PSD Garland Engineering Team. This includes finding alternate suppliers, consolidating parts, improving buying practices, and generating new innovative ideas. Collaboration will be key, working closely with PSD Garland Sourcing, PSD Global Sourcing, and PSD Engineering globally, among others.

The work environment prioritizes comfort and safety for desk-bound workers. Ergonomically designed workspaces with adjustable desks and chairs ensure proper posture during extended computer use. Employees receive training in safe lifting techniques for objects up to 25 pounds, with additional support and equipment available for heavier lifting. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided as needed.


Responsibilities:

  • Identify and assess COGs opportunities in collaboration with Sourcing
  • Collaborate with suppliers on spare parts levels and determine optimal levels or kits
  • Support master data completeness and accuracy
  • Develop customized components and product upgrades
  • Create models, release drawings, and bill of materials
  • Provide engineering input to support all internal functions within PSD
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives in collaboration with various departments
  • Participate in Continuous Product Improvement Systems through the Change Notice Process


Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, with Creo and Teamcenter experience preferred
  • Mechanical Engineering experience preferred
  • 3+ years of Design Engineering experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English
  • Strategic thinker, analytical, and well-organized
  • Team player with openness and flexibility
  • Decision-maker able to work independently
  • Ability to generate creative solutions and multitask in a fast-paced environment
